Rename, duplicate or delete a project

Right-click a project in the sidebar, or press its … button. Rename Project… changes its name, Duplicate Project makes a separate copy on the same video, and Delete Project… removes it from Rooster after asking. Deleting a project never deletes your recordings.
Every project has a menu: right-click it in the sidebar, or hover over it and press its … button.
Rename
Choose Rename Project…, type the new name and press Rename. Or click the project's title at the top of the editor and type. Two projects can share a name.
Duplicate
Choose Duplicate Project. Rooster makes a copy named after the original with "copy" added, at the top of your list, in the same folder.
The copy is a separate project on the same video file: editing one leaves the other alone. Your video is not copied, so a duplicate takes almost no space. The copy starts with no undo history.
To make a copy that is already cut down or reshaped - just the words you selected, a different shape, different captions - choose Make a Version… instead. See How Rooster saves your work, and undo.
Show the files
Reveal Media in Finder shows the project's main recording in Finder.
Delete
Choose Delete Project…. Rooster asks first, and says that the original video file is not touched.
Deleting removes the project - its edits, captions and transcript - from Rooster. It does not delete your recordings or imported files, which stay where they are. It cannot be undone, so make a duplicate first if you might want it back.
Rendered clips the project used stay in Rooster's own folder until you clear them in Settings > Storage. See See and free up the space Rooster uses.
