The people behind Rooster

Dalila and Peter are building Rooster, a transcript-first video editor for Mac. You record, edit and export on your own machine, and your bill stays the same however much you make.

What we believe

Your Mac is already an AI computer. Many everyday AI jobs, like transcribing a recording or cutting out the ums, don’t need a data centre. Doing them on a Mac you own, instead of paying by the minute for someone else’s servers, is cheaper, faster and better for the environment. Cloud-based AI is for the jobs a Mac can’t handle.

Why we’re building Rooster

Editing a talking video should start with the words, not with a hunt through a crowded timeline. Rooster puts recording, transcription, text-based editing, captions and export in one native Mac app.

And because that work runs on hardware you already own, there’s no media-minute allowance and no AI-credit meter. Your Rooster bill doesn’t grow with how much you edit.

Who we are

Dalila has been a SaaS CFO and COO for more than a decade. She knows the finance and operations side of a software business inside out.

Peter’s background is in marketing technology, turning complex requirements into simple, product-led experiences.

Together we build software we’d want to use ourselves: useful, clearly explained and with as few moving parts as possible.

Rooster is a member of NVIDIA Inception.
