Zoom in on part of the picture
Select the words in the script, open the Adjust rail, and drag Zoom. Choose the part of the picture under Centre on. The zoom eases in as the words begin and out as they end, and 100 % takes it off.
A screen recording often needs a closer look at one part of the screen while you talk about it. Rooster can zoom the recording in for exactly the words you choose.
Zoom in while some words play
- Select the words in the script.
- Open the Adjust rail. It shows the selected words, their sound, and below that Zoom.
- Drag Zoom. It runs from 100 %, no zoom, to 300 %.
- Under Centre on, press the part of the picture to zoom in on: a corner, the middle of an edge, or the centre. Pressing one before you drag zooms to 150 %.
The zoom eases in over the first moment of the words and out over the last, and the playhead moves to the middle of the words so you see it held. A zoom near a corner stops at the picture's edge rather than showing past it. Nothing is cut and your recording is unchanged; one Undo (⌘Z) takes the zoom back.
See or remove a clip's zoom
Click the clip on the timeline. The Adjust rail's Zoom band names its zoom - a punch-in from Smooth jump cuts, or a zoom over words - with its size. Press Remove to take it off that clip. To take a zoom off some words, select them and set Zoom back to 100 %.
